Thanksgiving and Presley's Birthday

This year for Thanksgiving Justin and I headed up North to visit both sides of the family. Unfortunately, the day we got on the plane, Justin had a 103 fever. We had to limit his exposure to others a bit, but after a few trips to the ER we discovered he had an ear infection. Needless to say, the first few days of our visit weren't the best for Justin, but he got lots of cuddly attention from Mimi and Papa while he wasn't feeling well!

Once he was feeling better, we went to lunch with Gigi, Mimi, Aunt Cara and Anna. After lunch, Justin and Anna enjoyed playing by the fountain outside the restaurant. I got some great pictures!

During our visit we went to a local park with Mimi and let Justin play. There was a lake with ducks and lots of leaves for him to run through. As you all know, Justin has been walking for a few months now and he now does a semi-run when he gets really excited (it's very cute). While we were there, my mother-in-law made a good point. As new moms, we all want to see our children discover their "firsts"--smiling, talking, walking, etc., but what we don't consider is how much comes AFTER the firsts! While we were at the park, I couldn't sit down for one moment. I had to follow Justin all over to make sure he didn't attempt to walk right into the lake after the ducks. He's in that stage where he just wants to keep going and going and going. . .

Off and running!

We extended our Thanksgiving visit to the week after so that we could help celebrate my niece's 1st birthday.

Princess for the day!

We had a really great time visiting with so much family. It's too bad we aren't closer geographically, but these trips to see cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents really help Justin. He loved spending time with all of his relatives and is looking forward to seeing them again in a few weeks at Christmas!
