Floor Fun
I was once told that you should vacuum your home the same number of a days per week for people in your family. Thus a two person home would need vacuuming twice a week, three people=three times, etc. This being the case, I SHOULD be vacuuming three days a week. Am I? No. I'm lucky if I manage one day a week. Does that make me a bad wife, mom, homemaker? Don't get me wrong, I'm doing my best to provide a clean environment for my son to play and explore in, but it's never SUPER sterile. But I'm OK with that--as are most of my friends and family. ;-) I consider myself so lucky to have the ability to stay at home to raise my son. That being said, those little lint balls and random pieces of string do make it into his line of sight. Today, Justin was "exploring" the living room--we've been encouraging the rolling and pushing around in hopes of a crawl. Anyway, in his travels, I noticed that he had stopped and was in a prone position on his belly. His legs were facing me, so I had to get up to see what had captured his attention. I sort of snuck up behind him trying not to surprise him so he'd continue playing. He was plucking at a small ball of string that he'd found on the floor. What was SO funny was that he kept flicking it around in front of him. He was using his index finger to sort of push at it and he'd push so hard that it'd flick like a tidily wink. But it provided about 10 minutes of fun for him! I guess having a three day a week vacuumed rug would have prevented this little bit of fun. I'll aim for two days a week!

Too funny! Emma's lucky if the floor gets vacuumed once a week. I can't tell you how many times I've found dog hair on her lips. Ew.
I won't tell Ryan about that "rule". I'm ashamed to say how infrequently our place gets vacuumed. Luckily Chase hasn't really put anything in his mouth though.
