Father's Day in San Antonio

Since Jon-Paul will be leaving for a while, we decided to go on a little trip together for Father's Day. We ended up visiting our friends the Wilkersons in San Antonio. Before getting to San Antonio, we made a quick stop in Austin. Justin did very well with the travel (an almost 3 hour flight) and was excited to crawl around the hotel for a little while.

After Austin, we drove on to San Antonio to see Daryl, Lynn and their son Jude. Jude is about a week older than Justin and we were so excited to see how Justin and Jude played together. It was great! They hit it off really well. Jude shared very nicely which was good because Justin was so happy to see so many new toys!

We braved the hot weather for a few hours to ride the train around the zoo. This was all of us (minus Lynn who is behind the camera) waiting for the train to come.

After the zoo, Lynn surprised us all with an impromptu early 1st birthday celebration for the boys! It was a nice way to have the dad's present for the celebration since Jon-Paul won't be here for Justin's actual birthday. I'm not sure if it was a good thing or not that Jon-Paul ended up wearing the party hat and not the babies!

"Oh Dad, you look so silly in that hat!"

Justin trying out a little frosting...

And after TOO much frosting!

Gotta hose off all that blue frosting--having fun with the hose! It was pretty hot in San Antonio so the boys enjoyed the cool water and playing in the pool.

And a final kiss from Dad. Happy Father's Day!
